As a former cross country and track runner for Lincoln East High School (2012-2016) and Augustana University (2016-2020), Alana Sesow strives to change the way athletes see themselves. She encourages athletes of all ability levels to shift from an outcome-based identity to a Christ-based identity — a shift that has changed her own life for the better.

In the past, Alana has used her gifts of encouragement and storytelling to serve with numerous athletic organizations, including Girls on the Run, Nebraska Elite Track Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SEEUS and Christian Youth Activity League.

Additionally, Alana embraced the role of athlete-photographer on her collegiate team. Multiple injuries throughout college allowed Alana to discover her passion for sports photography, as she frequently found herself on the sidelines. Even when Alana was competing, she would often bring her camera along — ditching it right before her warmup and quickly picking it back up after her cool down.

In May, Alana graduated summa cum laude from Augustana with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and media studies. She currently volunteers as a coach for the Lincoln East High School cross country team and is actively searching for career opportunities in sports multimedia.
